Please volunteer. We need a little bit of time from a whole lot of people, so that everyone can be involved without burning out. Wal-Mart is counting on this community to be apathetic, or to decide it's burned out from the Flying-J fight. But as our mothers used to say, "Many hands make light work." What better way to meet some of the nicest people in this community? You are needed - do your skills, interests and desires match any of the following?
Standing room only atTown of Salina Board Meeting Feb. 27, 2003 where Wal-Mart appeared before the Board to complete Part II of Environmental Assesment Form. Please contact us if you can help!
Community Comments "Liverpool is in the heart of central new york with a great park system, good public and social services and a safe environment to raise a family and have fun. "Wall Mart will make the village a ghost town just as it did in Central Square. Small business will be an afterthought here. Wall Mart crushes the competition and eliminates the "community " image of countless Liverpools across the country. "I own a small business that has been adversely affected by Home Depot. The only way to survive is to nip them in the bud. "But thats your job .... " - Anonymous "Although we do not live in the village of Liverpool, we are residents of the greater Liverpool area (Briarwood) behind Wegmans on Taft Rd. We shop and worship in the village and attend many functions such as Art in the Park, programs for children at the Library, concerts, Onondaga Lake park, etc. It is like living in a resort area without having to go to one. Wal-Mart would bring an overwhelming increase in traffic, hurt local businesses and detract greatly from the village's charm." - Penny
